About Yami Yami: Dutch Asian Cuisine
The Dutch-Asian cuisine concept reflects Aruba’s Dutch colonial heritage — a cuisine style with deep roots in Holland’s Indonesian and Chinese restaurant tradition. The menu spans the Dutch-Chinese takeaway canon (koe loe yuk, babi pangang, foe young hai, tjap tjoy), Indonesian dishes (nasi goreng, bami goreng, satay), and a full sushi bar with combos and hand rolls. Special combos are designed for value — generous portions intended for sharing or takeaway. Hours are Tuesday through Sunday 11:30 AM to 10:00 PM (closed Mondays). The restaurant’s own flyer says it plainly: save time, call first.

Yami Yami publishes its complete menu on its own menu site — yami-theta.vercel.app, the site its Google listing links to — and the same printed card is photographed inside the restaurant on that listing; the two match line for line. All prices are in Aruban florins, and the menu itself prints the house rate ($1.00 = Afl 1.75) and states that no service charge is added to the bill.
Soups and starters — Afl 6.50 to 16.50
Soups run Afl 9 (chicken, tomato, shark’s fin) to 12.50 (Chinese soup), with wonton, Szechuan hot-and-sour and corn-chicken at 10.50. Starters: jumbo or mini loempia 8, kroepoek 7, pisang goreng 7, chicken saté (4 skewers) 12.50, fried pangsit 8, curry puffs 8.50, atjar 6.50, gado-gado 14.50, and saté with fries as a light meal at 16.50.
Nasi, bami and mihoen — Afl 21.50 to 33.50
Nasi goreng with saté starts at 21.50 and climbs through shrimp (31.50) to the house Nasi YAMI YAMI at 33.50 — koe loe yuk, babi pangang and saté on one plate. The spicy nasi pedis and Young Chow nasi are 28.50, nasi rames 32.50. Bami goreng runs the same ladder (22.50–33.50), dry-fried Chinese bami is 25.50–31.50 with its own YAMI YAMI version at 29, and mihoen 25.50–31.50 including a spicy Mihoen Singapore at 28.50.
Babi pangang, koe loe and the classics — Afl 26.50 to 34.50
Babi pangang comes five ways at 30.50 (crispy spek 32.50). Koe loe (sweet-and-sour) yuk or kip is 26.50, fish 31.50, shrimp 34.50. Foe young hai and tjap tjoy each run 26.50 (chicken, pork or beef) to 34.50 (shrimp) — and each has a YAMI YAMI house version at 29.50 that combines chicken fillet, beef, small shrimp and cha sieuw.
Beef, shrimp, curry and the specials list — Afl 26.50 to 36.50
Sliced ossenhaas (beef tenderloin) comes nine ways — paprika, broccoli, mushrooms, Bali sauce, Japanese style — all at 34.50. Large Chinese shrimp dishes are 34.50–36.50, curry (kerrie) dishes 26.50–34.50, and the cover carries a lettered specials list: kong bo (cashew) pork or chicken 29, kong bo shrimp 34.50, and woe war bean-sauce dishes 29–34.50.
Vegetarian — Afl 21 to 26.50
Vegetarian nasi, bami, Chinese bami or mihoen are 21, tjap tjoy and foe young 23, and Chinese vegetables or tofu in oyster, hot bean or sweet-and-sour sauce 26.50.
Sushi — combos Afl 35 to 114.50
Sushi combos: a 12-piece Sushi Roll Combo or 18-piece Beginner Combo is Afl 35, the 21-piece Yami Maki Combo 40, Nigiri Maki (21 pieces) or Nigiri Combo (10) 45, the 23-piece Yami Mix 50, the 26-piece Sashimi Combo or 32-piece Sushi Roll Delux 55, and a 48-piece Party Platter 114.50. À la carte: miso soup and edamame 10.50, ebi tempura 19.50, hand rolls 13.50–16.50, maki rolls 11–18.50, specialty rolls 19–26.50 (rainbow 23.50, Orlando 24.50, fried dragon or thunder storm roll 26.50), and nigiri or sashimi per order 13.50–17.50. Our verdict
Sushi is the quiet co-headliner here — 48 reviewers mention it against 11 for the celebrated teriyaki chicken — and the combo platters (Afl 35–55 for 12–32 pieces) undercut every resort-strip sushi bar on the island. If you want the kitchen’s own showcase, order anything with YAMI YAMI in the name: the 33.50 nasi stacks koe loe yuk, babi pangang and saté on one plate. On a budget, the $10 / Afl 17.50 to-go combo is one of the cheapest hot dinners anywhere near Palm Beach. Google’s AWG 20–40-a-head estimate rings true against the card. Two cautions, both from the sources themselves: it is closed on Mondays, and with nine reviewers mentioning waits, the flyer’s “save time, call first” is worth taking literally.
