Best Beach Bars in Aruba
Moomba Beach Bar — Palm Beach (The Social Centre)
Moomba is Aruba’s most iconic beach bar and the beating heart of the Palm Beach social scene. The Sunday Beach Party is legendary — local and tourist crowds, DJs from noon, the whole beach comes alive. Happy hour runs daily 4–7 PM. The food is decent, the frozen drinks are excellent, and the location right on the sand is as good as it gets. Open daily from morning through late evening. Full guide

Wacky Wahoo’s — Palm Beach
Large, lively, unpretentious. Consistently packed with a mix of tourists and expats. The burgers and bar bites are above average for a beach bar. Lively atmosphere, competitive prices for Palm Beach, and a loyal following. Excellent for groups. Full guide
Fat Tuesday — Palm Beach
The frozen daiquiri bar. Multiple flavours, affordable, extremely social. Located right on Palm Beach, Fat Tuesday is essentially where groups go for round two after Moomba or wherever else the night has taken them. Cash-friendly, no pretension. Full guide
Passions on the Beach — Eagle Beach
The romantic counterpoint to the Moomba party scene. Torchlit tables directly on Eagle Beach at sunset. The food is excellent — this is a proper restaurant as much as a beach bar — and the setting is the most consistently romantic in Aruba. For couples. Book ahead. Full guide
Barefoot — Eagle Beach
Candlelit, relaxed, on Eagle Beach. The name captures it — shoes optional, pretension non-existent. Good seafood, strong drinks, beautiful beach setting. A more intimate alternative to Moomba for evenings. Full guide
Hadicurari Beach Bar (Fisherman’s Huts) — North of Palm Beach
The local beach bar at the windsurfing and kitesurfing beach. Cold Balashi, fresh fish, a crowd of kitesurfers and windsurfers watching the masters at their craft. Unpretentious and genuinely local. Guide
Moomba Sunday Beach Party — The Weekly Event
Every Sunday, Moomba Beach transforms into the island’s biggest beach party — DJs, dancing, beachside tables full from noon, and a party that runs until sunset and beyond. This is the social event of the Aruba weekly calendar. Free entry, just buy drinks. Arrive by noon for a table position.

Best beach bars Aruba: Complete Aruba Guide for 2026
Aruba’s beaches are consistently ranked among the best in the Caribbean. The island sits outside the hurricane belt, guaranteeing excellent weather almost year-round, with temperatures between 27-31°C (80-88°F). The western coast — where all the main beaches are located — is protected from the Atlantic swells by the island’s geography, giving calm, clear, turquoise water ideal for swimming, snorkelling and water sports. The constant trade winds keep the beach comfortable even at the height of summer. Eagle Beach is widest and least crowded. Palm Beach has the most facilities and nightlife nearby. Arashi Beach is the top snorkelling spot. Baby Beach in the south has the calmest water for families.
Practical tips for 2026: Book tours and activities at least 24-48 hours in advance. Hotel rates are lowest in May through early December. Direct flights from the US East Coast typically run 3.5-4.5 hours. The island uses the US dollar — no currency exchange needed for American travellers. Aruba has no sales tax on most tourist services. For the best Aruba experience, combine beach time with at least one boat tour and one land-based excursion.

Frequently asked questions
Are Aruba beaches free to use?
Yes. All beaches in Aruba are public up to the high-water mark, including the stretches fronting the big resorts. You can walk on and lay a towel down anywhere, though loungers and palapas belonging to a hotel are for its guests.
Which side of the island has the calm water?
The western and southern coasts. That is where Palm Beach, Eagle Beach, Manchebo and Baby Beach sit, and where the water stays flat enough for swimming and snorkelling. The north and east coasts face open Atlantic swell and are not safe for casual swimming.
Do I need to book a beach chair?
Not on the public stretches. On Palm Beach the hotel palapas fill early and are reserved for guests, so arrive before mid-morning if you want shade or bring your own.
Is the water warm year-round?
Yes, sitting around 27 to 28°C, so no wetsuit is needed at any time of year.
