Snorkelling at Baby Beach
The reef at Baby Beach wraps around the edge of the lagoon and along the outer breakwater. Visibility is generally excellent — 15–25 metres on a clear day. Sea turtles are regularly spotted here, along with parrotfish, trumpet fish, angelfish, and various reef species. Bring your own snorkel gear (rentals are available but limited), and snorkel towards the outer edge of the bay rather than the shallow central area.
The best snorkelling is at the coral heads along the eastern side of the lagoon, accessible by swimming from shore. No boat needed.
Getting to Baby Beach
Baby Beach is at the southern tip of Aruba, past San Nicolas, approximately 25–30 minutes from Palm Beach by car. A rental car is the easiest option — there’s parking at the beach. Some tour companies run excursions to Baby Beach as part of island tours, which is the alternative if you don’t have a car.
The road to Baby Beach passes through San Nicolas (Aruba’s second city and arts district) — worth a stop for street art and local food. GPS works reliably to Baby Beach. Look for the parking area at the end of the road.
