Most of Aruba is paved, and a small automatic will take you anywhere on the main roads. The north coast and the tracks inside Arikok National Park are a different story: unpaved, rocky, and wanting a high clearance 4×4. This page is for that side of the island.
Which tours are actually worth it?
We will send you the short list — what is worth booking ahead, what you can decide on the day, and what to skip entirely.

The Jeeps in our fleet
Automatic, air conditioned, third party insurance in the rate, collected at the airport, your hotel or the cruise port. The low season rate is shown; the booking page prices your exact dates.
Do you need a 4×4 in Aruba?
On the main roads, no. They are paved, well signed and easy to follow, and a small automatic is the cheapest way to see the island. The north coast and the rough tracks inside Arikok National Park are the exception: those are unpaved and want a high clearance 4×4. If your list includes the Natural Pool, the park interior, or the coast road beyond the California Lighthouse, a Jeep is the right rental. If it does not, you are paying for clearance you will not use, and any car in the fleet will do the job for less.
One rule worth knowing before you plan the day: UTVs and ATVs have not been allowed into Arikok since 1 November 2020. A Jeep is the vehicle that gets you in under your own steam.
Rather not drive it yourself?
Our private jeep tour covers Arikok and the Natural Pool with a driver, your group only, and you pay a small deposit online with the rest on the day. It is the better choice if only one day of the trip is about the rough side, since a Jeep rental has a minimum length and the tour does not. For the coastal tracks outside the park there is also UTV rental in Aruba, four, eight or twenty-four hours, booked and paid online in one step.
What you pay, and when
Third party insurance is included in the daily rate. A collision damage waiver is optional and lowers what you would owe if the vehicle is damaged; you decide at the desk, and the cost is spelled out to you before you pay anything. The full detail is on insurance and the deposit, and every class side by side is on car rental prices.
Where you pick it up
Jeep rental questions
No. You send a request first and we check the car is actually available. Only once we confirm do we ask for the reservation fee. It is 13% of the rental total and it guarantees your car for those dates. It is non refundable, because holding a car means turning other bookings away. The rest is paid when you collect. The remaining balance of the rental, a $300 refundable security deposit on a credit card in the driver name, and any extras such as additional CDW insurance. Yes, 3 days. A valid driving licence, your passport or ID, and a credit card in the driver name for the security deposit. Aruba Airport, or our office at Sabana Blanco 69 Unit 3 in Oranjestad. You choose when you book. Only for the rough tracks in Arikok National Park and the north coast. Everywhere else a normal car is fine.Do I pay anything to reserve?
