What the daily rate includes
Third party insurance, the taxes and fees, unlimited mileage, air conditioning and an automatic gearbox. There is nothing to add at the desk except the two things you choose yourself: the optional damage waiver, and any extras you asked for in the booking form.
What you pay, and when
Nothing to send the request. Once we have confirmed the car for your dates we send you a private link, and there you pay the reservation fee online. That fee is part of the rental, not on top of it, so you pay the same total as booking at the counter. Everything else is settled when you collect: the rest of the rental, the refundable security deposit, and the damage waiver if you decide to take it.
What makes the price move
Season. The high season window is priced higher across every class, and the rest of the year is the lower rate in the table. A stay that crosses the boundary is priced day by day, so you are never charged the high rate for the whole rental because one night falls inside it.
Class. An economy hatchback is the cheapest way to see the island and the easiest to park in Oranjestad. SUVs cost more and are more comfortable on the road to Arikok and the north coast. A Jeep costs the most and is the only class built for the unpaved tracks; see Jeep rental in Aruba before you decide whether you need one.
Length. The minimum rental is short, so a car for two or three days mid-trip is possible if you would rather take a transfer on arrival. If you want the car from the moment you land, airport pickup is the usual choice.
Fuel, parking and extras
Fuel is sold in litres at a price set by the government, so it costs the same at every station, and at most of them an attendant fills the car for you. Oranjestad has parking meters, and you may not park along a yellow line. Child seats, booster seats, an additional driver and a cooler box are requested in the booking form and confirmed with the car.
The deposit is not a cost
The security deposit is held on a credit card in the driver’s name at the desk and released when the car comes back as it went out. It is not part of the price. How it works, and how insurance works, is on insurance and the deposit. Whether a car is worth it for your trip at all is a fair question too: do you actually need a car in Aruba weighs it against taxis.
Price questions
No. You send a request first and we check the car is actually available. Only once we confirm do we ask for the reservation fee. It is 13% of the rental total and it guarantees your car for those dates. It is non refundable, because holding a car means turning other bookings away. The rest is paid when you collect. The remaining balance of the rental, a $300 refundable security deposit on a credit card in the driver name, and any extras such as additional CDW insurance. Yes, 3 days. A valid driving licence, your passport or ID, and a credit card in the driver name for the security deposit. Aruba Airport, or our office at Sabana Blanco 69 Unit 3 in Oranjestad. You choose when you book. Only for the rough tracks in Arikok National Park and the north coast. Everywhere else a normal car is fine.Do I pay anything to reserve?
