Aquarius Restaurant Aruba: Buffets and Dining at the Renaissance Marina

Aquarius is the main restaurant inside the Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba Resort on Lloyd G. Smith Boulevard in Oranjestad — a contemporary dining experience with a sleek, modern design and a chill atmosphere that offers a pleasant contrast to the more formal fine dining options in the area.

The location inside the Renaissance Marina Hotel gives Aquarius an excellent position overlooking Oranjestad’s marina and harbour. It’s particularly good for breakfast and lunch when the views are at their most vivid, though the dinner menu is worth the visit too.

Everything below is transcribed from the restaurant’s current published menu — the October 2025 edition the resort publishes on its listing with the Aruba Tourism Authority — checked October 2026. Prices are in US dollars and a 17% service charge is added to the final check; both facts are printed on the menu itself. The menu board in our photo shows an older edition with lower prices, so trust the figures here rather than the board.

The buffets — why people come

• Aquarius lunch buffet — $32. Salads, sushi and soup, an international theme action station, the hot buffet and a dessert station, served daily.
• Aquarius dinner buffet — $56. The famous one: a seafood buffet with a live action station. The seafood station cooks lobster tails, grouper, snapper, wahoo, mahi mahi, tuna and shrimp à la minute, and around it sit a seafood bar with ceviches and maki rolls, a carvery, a cheese board, a long salad table (conch salad and Caribbean seafood salad included), home-pickled local items with Aruban hot sauces, and the pastry chef’s dessert spread.
• Sunday brunch buffet — $46. Salads, sushi and soup, an omelette action station, a specialty corner, a carvery and an international selection of hot dishes and desserts.
• Kids: under 5 eat free with a paying adult and 6 to 12 pay half price, per the schedule the restaurant posts at the door.

Breakfast (7 to 11 am) runs as its own à la carte menu, published on the restaurant’s OpenTable listing: the Aruban Benedict built on a local fish cake is $17, buttermilk pancakes are $13, the All American two-egg plate is $20, and sides and juices run $3 to $8.

The Setting: Oranjestad Marina

The marina setting is the real draw. Tables facing the harbour give you a view of the boats, the waterfront, and beyond to the Caribbean. It’s a different perspective on Aruba from the beach-facing restaurants of Palm Beach — more urban, more local, more connected to Oranjestad’s history as a working port.

Our verdict

The dinner buffet is the reason to come. At $56 plus the 17% service charge — call it $66 a head before drinks — you get lobster tails and half a dozen kinds of fish cooked to order at the seafood station, and that is exactly what the reviews are about: “buffet” appears in more than 120 of the restaurant’s Google reviews, and the rating sits at 4.5 across 606 of them (checked October 2026). For an all-you-can-eat seafood night in Oranjestad that is fair money — two à la carte courses and a glass of wine land near the same figure without the lobster.

The $32 lunch buffet is the cheaper way into the same room, and families do unusually well here: kids under 5 eat free and 6 to 12 pay half price. Book dinner ahead through OpenTable and ask for a marina-side table — the buffet nights fill.
