About El Gaucho
The formula has not changed in decades: quality Argentine beef, proper cooking, and a long South American wine list. Furthermore, the wood-panelled dining room feels like Buenos Aires transported to the Caribbean. Repeat visitors are fanatically loyal.
What to Order at El Gaucho
The ribeye and the lomo (tenderloin) are the stars. They are cooked to order with serious attention to temperature and resting time. For example, the empanadas are a must-start, made in-house with proper pastry. The chimichurri is house-made and genuinely good. Finish with dulce de leche pancakes.
Tips for Your Visit
Book ahead, especially for Friday and Saturday evenings. The restaurant is in downtown Oranjestad. However, it is a 15-minute drive from Palm Beach. Dress smart-casual.
