Ten days in Aruba is a different trip from a week. Seven days is a highlight reel — you see the famous beaches, do two or three tours, and leave slightly tired. Ten days lets you stop optimising. You get repeat visits to the beach you actually liked, a genuine rest day in the middle, and time for the parts of the island most visitors never reach because they are busy squeezing everything into six.
This plan assumes you want that. It front-loads the big excursions while you are fresh, puts the flexible days in the middle, and keeps the last two deliberately loose so weather can move things without wrecking the schedule.

Aruba 10-Day Itinerary, Day by Day
Day 1: Arrive, and do almost nothing
Land, collect the rental car or arrange a taxi, and get to your hotel. Aruba is small enough that nothing is more than 40 minutes from the airport, so resist the urge to plan anything. Walk to the nearest beach for sunset, eat somewhere close, sleep.
Day 2: Eagle Beach and Palm Beach, side by side
Do both in one day so you know which one you want to come back to. Eagle Beach is wide, quiet and low-rise. Palm Beach is busier, with the high-rise hotels, the bars and the watersports operators. Most people have a clear favourite by dinner, and on a ten-day trip that preference is worth discovering early.
Day 3: Catamaran sail and snorkel
Get the signature excursion in while the week is still young. The Antilla wreck is the one to aim for — a WW2-era freighter in shallow enough water that snorkellers see it properly, not just divers. Check dates and prices for the shipwreck and turtles sail.
Day 4: Rest day — and take it seriously
This is the day most seven-day itineraries cannot afford. Beach, book, long lunch, nap. If you skip it you will feel it by day seven.
Day 5: Jeep or UTV across the north coast
Arikok National Park, the natural pool, the caves and the wild windward side. You cannot reach most of this in a normal rental car — the terrain genuinely requires it, which is why the guided tours exist. See what the jeep tour covers.
Day 6: Oranjestad, slowly
The capital rewards a half day rather than a rushed hour. Colourful Dutch colonial architecture, the free tram, and shopping that is genuinely duty-free. Go in the morning before the cruise crowds thicken, then head back to the beach for the afternoon.
Day 7: Baby Beach and the south end
The shallow, sheltered lagoon at the southern tip is the calmest water in Aruba and the best swimming for anyone nervous in open sea. Combine it with San Nicolas for the street art — the murals there are the most underrated thing on the island.
Day 8: The second rest day, or the splurge
By now you know what you want more of. Either take another slow day, or book the thing you have been eyeing. Parasailing is the common choice because it is short, dramatic and does not eat the whole day. Check parasailing availability.
Day 9: Sunrise sail, sunset dinner
A morning sail is the quietest water you will see all trip, and the light is better than the afternoon runs. Look at the morning champagne sail. Save the evening for the restaurant you have been putting off.
Day 10: Last morning, no ambition
Check-out is usually late morning. Have breakfast somewhere with a view, get one last swim in, and go. Do not book anything — flights and departure logistics expand to fill whatever time you leave them.
How 10 days changes what you should book
The main difference is that you can afford to wait. On a three-day trip you book everything in advance because there is no slack — a rained-out catamaran day is the catamaran day. On ten days you can hold one or two excursions loose and book them 24 to 48 hours ahead once you have seen the forecast. The popular sails do sell out in high season, so this works better for the jeep and UTV tours than for the boats.
The second difference is accommodation. Ten nights is long enough that the nightly rate matters more than any booking fee, and long enough that a low-rise hotel on Eagle Beach starts to feel different from a high-rise on Palm Beach in ways a three-night stay never reveals. Is 10 days too long for Aruba?
Only if you plan it like a seven-day trip with three extra days bolted on. Aruba is about 20 miles long, so ten days of constant sightseeing would exhaust the island. Ten days of beach time with five or six planned activities is comfortable, and it is how most repeat visitors travel.
Do I need a rental car for 10 days in Aruba?
Not for the whole stay. The hotel strips at Palm Beach and Eagle Beach are walkable and well served by buses and taxis. Renting for three or four of the ten days covers the exploring and costs considerably less than a full-term rental.
What is the best time of year for a longer Aruba trip?
Aruba sits below the main hurricane belt and is dry and windy year-round, which is why it has fewer bad-weather write-offs than most Caribbean islands. Rates drop noticeably from around September to November, which suits a longer stay.
How many tours should I book on a 10-day trip?
Four to six is the range that works. Fewer and the middle of the trip drifts; more and you lose the rest days that make a longer stay worth doing in the first place.
