About Kamini’s Kitchen
Chef and owner Kamini Kurvink opened the kitchen in the early 2000s, blending her Trinidadian heritage with Aruban flavors into a uniquely Caribbean comfort food experience. The restaurant has grown from a modest family-owned eatery to one of the most celebrated dining spots on the island.
The space itself reflects Kamini’s roots: vaulted wood-beamed ceilings, big open windows, bright Caribbean colors. On certain nights a steel drum band plays. The vibe is laid-back, friendly, and unpretentious — Kamini herself often comes around to check on tables. The bright green-and-blue building is impossible to miss on the road south to Baby Beach (just past the Train Museum sign), making it a perfect lunch stop on a beach day.

Kamini’s Kitchen publishes its complete menu, priced in US dollars, on its own website — the figures below were taken from kaminis-kitchen.com in October 2026. The site has a USD/AWG switch if you want everything in florin, and its FAQ is unusually practical: bills under $20 are cash only, takeaway goes in biodegradable boxes at AWG 1 each (Aruba has banned single-use plastic), and the curry is not spicy unless you ask — “Kamini spicy” costs AWG 4 extra, hot sauce on the side AWG 3. Online ordering was paused when we checked, so call +297 587 1398 to order ahead.

Order off the roti board: $19 covers any of the vegetarian rotis, $20 to $25 gets you chicken, shrimp or oxtail, and curry goat at $30 or curry duck at $34 are the worth-it splurges — the $40 conch roti is the ceiling of the whole menu. Start with doubles at $4. The curry comes mild by design, so if you want heat ask for “Kamini spicy” — AWG 4 extra, per the restaurant’s own FAQ.
Treat it as the long lunch on a Baby Beach day rather than a dinner plan: the kitchen runs noon to 7:30 pm and is closed on Tuesdays, so it shuts well before the tourist-strip restaurants. Budget around Google’s visitor estimate of AWG 40–60 a head (about $22 to $34) — a main, a side and a drink lands right in that band — and carry some cash, since bills under $20 are cash only. Pair it with the San Nicolas murals on the way in.
