The restaurant is small, family-run, and unfussy — the kind of place where the same people are cooking the food they grew up eating. The menu is genuinely Peruvian: long, with regional specialties most tourists have never heard of. Lunch service is the main daypart. Cash and card both accepted; English-friendly menus available.

Start with the ceviche mixto (sea bass and shrimp cured in leche de tigre with red onion, sweet potato, and corn) — this is the dish to test any Peruvian kitchen on, and Así Es Mi Peru passes confidently. Lomo saltado (stir-fried beef with onions, tomatoes, soy sauce, and french fries served over rice) is the second must-order. Other standouts: ají de gallina (creamy chicken in yellow chili sauce), arroz chaufa (Chinese-Peruvian fried rice), causa rellena (cold mashed potato terrine with fillings), and chicha morada (purple corn drink).
