Taxi
Taxis are fixed-rate, metered, and readily available outside arrivals. No need to negotiate. Approximate fares: Palm Beach hotels $25–30, Eagle Beach hotels $20–25, Oranjestad $15–20. Taxis take 4–5 passengers. Pay in USD. No app — just join the queue at the taxi stand outside the arrivals hall.
Private Transfer
Pre-book a private minivan for larger groups or if you want a guaranteed vehicle on arrival. $35–50 to Palm Beach. Worth it for groups of 5+ or if you’re arriving late at night. Book through Viator or your hotel concierge.
Rental Car
All major rental companies have desks in the arrivals hall (Hertz, Avis, Budget, Economy). Picking up on arrival means you have the car from day one. $45–80/day. If a car feels too tame for the north coast, an Aruba UTV rental for four, eight or twenty-four hours covers the dirt tracks outside Arikok; UTVs are not allowed inside the park itself.
Hotel Shuttle
Some larger Palm Beach resorts (Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton) run free or low-cost shuttles from the airport. Check with your hotel at booking — it’s often the cheapest option for resort guests.
Practical Tips
Aruba’s airport has US pre-clearance for return flights to the US — you clear customs and immigration in Aruba before boarding, meaning you land as a domestic arrival in the US. Complete the ED Card online before arrival to speed through Aruban immigration.
