Sea View Take Away is a small local lunch counter in Savaneta, the fishing village on the south coast, with a 4.8-star Google rating across 35 reviews (checked September 2026). It is the opposite of a resort restaurant: a weekly menu, one or two dishes cooked each day, and prices in florins that reviewers from abroad keep remarking on.

About Sea View Take Away
It opens for lunch only: 10am to 1:30pm Tuesday to Friday and 11:30am to 1:30pm at the weekend, closed Monday. Because the kitchen makes only a couple of things a day, what you get depends on the day; the dishes reviewers mention are stewed ribs with rice, plantain and salad, a seafood plate, seafood pasta, and fish that one visitor called the best-cooked of their whole trip. People staying nearby report going back several times in a week. It is takeout by nature, so plan to eat at the beach or back at your place.
What reviewers mention
Home cooking, very fair local prices, and the advice not to miss it if you are staying anywhere on the south side. Check the day’s menu before you drive over.
The menu — checked September 2026
Sea View publishes no menu anywhere online — the Google listing is unclaimed, with no website behind it — and there is no printed menu at all. What there is instead is a handwritten board at the counter: one sheet per month, a few dishes per day, and the kitchen cooks what the board says that day. Customer photos on the Google listing capture a January board in full, and it is the best picture of how the place works:
- Monday: closed
- Tuesday: chicken a la parrilla 13.50 · salmon fillet with lemon sauce 14.00 · beef soup with funchi 12.00
- Wednesday: bami goreng with chicken 13.50 · garlic shrimp 15.00
- Thursday: chicken stoba 13.00 · beef lasagna 14.00
- Friday: fresh fish with funchi and pan bati 16.00 · seafood soup 12.50
- Saturday: paella (seafood rice) 14.00 · red bean soup with pigtail 12.00 · chicken saté 13.50
- Sunday: BBQ mix 15.50 · BBQ ribs 16.00 · BBQ chicken 15.00
The rotation changes with the board, so read those dishes as the style of the place rather than a promise — but the shape holds: a couple of plates a day, priced between 12.00 and 16.00. The board does not mark a currency; reviewers describe paying local florin prices, which would put a plate at roughly $7 to $9. The photos on the Google listing are where to check the current month’s board before you drive over.
Getting there
Sea View is in Savaneta on the south coast, about 15 minutes from Oranjestad and 25 from the hotel strip; it is a takeout counter a couple of minutes on foot from Mangel Halto beach, and the number painted on its storefront sign is +297 732 4796 (the Google listing itself lists no phone). If you are staying on the hotel strip, a rental car is the easiest way to reach it and everything else on this side of the island; taxis add up fast at night.

Our verdict
Sea View is local lunch at local prices, and the constraints are the point: the kitchen cooks a couple of dishes a day, sells them from 10am on weekdays (11:30am at the weekend) until 1:30pm, and closes on Monday. The counter sits a couple of minutes on foot from Mangel Halto beach, which settles what to do with a takeout box — order, walk down, and eat by the water between snorkel runs. On the board we saw, Friday’s fresh fish with funchi and pan bati was the priciest line, and Sunday is the BBQ day. A 4.8 across 35 Google reviews for a counter this small is earned the slow way; just do not turn up at 2pm expecting lunch.
