Matthew’s Beachside Restaurant is the all-day oceanfront eatery at Casa del Mar Beach Resort on Eagle Beach — open 7:30 AM to 11 PM daily, with full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus, three daily happy hours, all-you-can-eat ribs Tuesdays, karaoke Wednesdays, and a patio steps from the sand. Family-friendly, casual, dependable, and one of the few restaurants on Eagle Beach serving breakfast.

About Matthew’s Beachside
Matthew’s has grown from a modest eatery into one of Eagle Beach’s most reliable destinations across the day — open continuously from 7:30 AM until 11 PM, which is unusual on the island. The patio sits just steps from the shoreline at Casa del Mar Beach Resort, with the soothing sound of waves and a front-row sea view without being directly on sand.
The vibe is rustic-refined beach shanty: wood floors, white tablecloths, sea breeze, and a team that treats every guest like family. Three flat-screen TVs at the bar play sports. Beach seating, pool access, free parking, takeout available, no reservations required (though recommended for sunset slots).

What guests are saying
Reviews consistently praise the oceanfront patio at sunset, family-friendly atmosphere (multiple reviews call out staff going above-and-beyond for kids and grandparents), and named servers like Nancy for warm hospitality. The Tuesday rib special and Wednesday karaoke fill the place reliably.
Honest caveats: service can be slow when busy; view is “near the beach” not “on the beach” — patio is steps from the sand, not toes-in-sand seating; no online booking — call 588-7300 to reserve. Use the resort entrance, not the seaside.

Frequently asked questions
Are Aruba beaches free to use?
Yes. All beaches in Aruba are public up to the high-water mark, including the stretches fronting the big resorts. You can walk on and lay a towel down anywhere, though loungers and palapas belonging to a hotel are for its guests.
Which side of the island has the calm water?
The western and southern coasts. That is where Palm Beach, Eagle Beach, Manchebo and Baby Beach sit, and where the water stays flat enough for swimming and snorkelling. The north and east coasts face open Atlantic swell and are not safe for casual swimming.
Do I need to book a beach chair?
Not on the public stretches. On Palm Beach the hotel palapas fill early and are reserved for guests, so arrive before mid-morning if you want shade or bring your own.
Is the water warm year-round?
Yes, sitting around 27 to 28°C, so no wetsuit is needed at any time of year.
