About Chalet Suisse

Chalet Suisse opened in 1988 and has been an Aruba culinary tradition ever since — a “must-visit” for many repeat-vacation guests. The restaurant is housed in a unique chalet modeled after traditional wooden Swiss homes — distinct from anything else on the strip. Helmed by hands-on General Manager and former Executive Chef Rudolf Ratzenbock, with Executive Chef Yves Steinmetz running the line.

The setup includes the spacious main dining room, a private Chalet Room with 200-year-old wood paneling for parties of 14-20, and a second private dining room for groups of 15-30. The vibe is unmistakably Old World Europe: dark wood beams, white tablecloths, candlelight, attentive professional service. Excellent for anniversaries, business dinners, and special occasions. Located at J.E. Irausquin Blvd 246. Dinner only, Monday through Saturday 5:30 PM to 10 PM. Casual attire welcome.

What guests are saying

Reviews are overwhelmingly positive — a tradition spanning multiple generations of guests. Common themes: consistent quality across decades, impeccable service, the rack of lamb and Madagascar filet mignon as standout dishes, and the Toblerone fondue as a must-have closing. The 200-year-old wood paneling in the Chalet Room earns special mentions for private events.

Honest caveats: fine-dining prices ($27-$56 mains plus 15% service); indoor only — no outdoor seating; book early for weekends and holiday season — the dining room fills quickly; traditional dress code is “casual” but lean refined. The classic Aruba special-occasion choice.
