Chalet Suisse is the Old World Swiss-international fine dining destination across from Eagle Beach in the Low Rise hotel area — open since 1988, modeled after a traditional wooden Swiss home, with European master chefs serving prime U.S. meats flown from New York, fresh local seafood, and the iconic Swiss Toblerone Chocolate Fondue. Tripadvisor 4.7 stars across 406+ OpenTable reviews, 96% recommendation. Family-run for 36+ years.
About Chalet Suisse
Chalet Suisse opened in 1988 and has been an Aruba culinary tradition ever since — a “must-visit” for many repeat-vacation guests. The restaurant is housed in a unique chalet modeled after traditional wooden Swiss homes — distinct from anything else on the strip. Helmed by hands-on General Manager and former Executive Chef Rudolf Ratzenbock, with Executive Chef Yves Steinmetz running the line.
The setup includes the spacious main dining room, a private Chalet Room with 200-year-old wood paneling for parties of 14-20, and a second private dining room for groups of 15-30. The vibe is unmistakably Old World Europe: dark wood beams, white tablecloths, candlelight, attentive professional service. Excellent for anniversaries, business dinners, and special occasions. Located at J.E. Irausquin Blvd 246. Dinner only, Monday through Saturday 5:30 PM to 10 PM. Casual attire welcome.

What guests are saying
Reviews are overwhelmingly positive — a tradition spanning multiple generations of guests. Common themes: consistent quality across decades, impeccable service, the rack of lamb and Madagascar filet mignon as standout dishes, and the Toblerone fondue as a must-have closing. The 200-year-old wood paneling in the Chalet Room earns special mentions for private events.
Honest caveats: fine-dining prices ($27-$56 mains plus 15% service); indoor only — no outdoor seating; book early for weekends and holiday season — the dining room fills quickly; traditional dress code is “casual” but lean refined. The classic Aruba special-occasion choice.
