O’Niel Caribbean Kitchen is the chef-owned Jamaican-Caribbean soul-food spot tucked into the colorful murals of San Nicolas β chef Oneil Williams brings authentic Jamaican classics (oxtail, jerk chicken, ackee with saltfish) to Aruba’s southern art district, paired with local Aruban favorites like balchi (Aruban fish balls) and steamed snapper. Frequently ranked the #1 or #2 restaurant in San Nicolas. The locals’ pick.

About O’Niel Caribbean Kitchen
Chef-owner Oneil Williams brought his Jamaican roots to Aruba and built O’Niel Caribbean Kitchen into a San Nicolas institution. The motto: “Local and Caribbean cuisine, good to the last bite.” Located at Bernard van de Veen Zeppenfeldstraat 15, right in the heart of the San Nicolas Art Walk β wander past the murals before or after dinner.
The vibe is unmistakably Caribbean: lively music, colorful decor, indoor and covered open-air seating, occasional live steel pan music or karaoke nights. Locals-favorite atmosphere β when the place is full on a Friday or Saturday it has a true block-party energy. Plan for a 25-minute drive south from Palm Beach but the trip is worth it for authentic flavors you won’t find on the resort strip.

What guests are saying
Reviews consistently call out the authentic flavors (“the kind of food that keeps you thinking about it long after”), generous portions, reasonable prices (most mains $15-25), and the vibrant Caribbean atmosphere. Multiple recent reviews specifically mention the live music nights and friendly long-term staff. TikTok food influencers consistently rank it as the must-visit local spot in Aruba.
Honest caveats: service is slow β multiple reviews specifically warn “there’s island slow, then there’s O’Niel’s slow”; oxtail can run out on busy nights or come light on portion size depending on the day; plan to arrive before 5:30 PM Friday/Saturday if you want a seat without a long wait. Patience rewards: this is destination-worthy Caribbean food.
