About Big Mama Grill

Big Mama Grill has been serving Baby Beach for over 25 years — a true family-run operation that’s seen the area grow from a quiet corner of Aruba into one of the island’s most popular beach destinations. The location couldn’t be better: steps from Baby Beach’s calm shallow water, with cabana service available right on the sand for guests who want their drinks and meals delivered while they relax.

The setup includes indoor dining, outdoor beachside seating, and beach cabanas with full table service. The vibe is relaxed and unpretentious — flip-flops welcome, kids welcome, dogs welcome (if they play well with others). Live music nights, occasional special events, and the kind of attentive staff that remembers your face when you come back the next day.

What guests are saying

Reviews consistently highlight the unbeatable beachfront location, warm staff (named regulars include Sotanya the manager, Lorenzo, and bartender Yashin), cabana service as a standout luxury for the price point, and the generous portions of curry chicken and oxtail. Many guests come for ice cream a second time after their first meal.

Honest caveats: service quality varies by server and busy-ness; some dishes can be salty per recent reviews; restroom requires a ticket (provided with your food purchase — keep it); and cocktails sometimes run light on alcohol per a few guests. The Flintstones-themed decor and staff costumes are polarizing — some love the quirky vibe, others find it odd. Bottom line: come for the location and the curry chicken, expect a fun, casual beach lunch — not fine dining.
