Aruba Weather Month by Month

January & February

Temperature: 27–29°C (80–84°F). Rainfall: very low. Trade winds: strong (15–22 knots). Peak season — busy and expensive. Carnival season kicks off in January. Some north coast beaches may be rough due to stronger trade winds, but west coast (Palm Beach, Eagle Beach) stays calm. One of the best months weather-wise.

March & April

Temperature: 28–30°C (82–86°F). Rainfall: very low. Trade winds: moderate–strong. Late peak season tapering into shoulder season after Easter. April is excellent — slightly warmer, less crowded than January–February, better hotel availability. Sea turtle nesting season begins.

May & June

Temperature: 29–31°C (84–88°F). Rainfall: low. Trade winds: moderate. Shoulder season — significantly fewer tourists, noticeably lower hotel prices (20–30% below peak), same perfect weather. Best value months of the year. Aruba Art Fair runs in May (San Nicolas street art festival).

July & August

Temperature: 30–32°C (86–90°F). Rainfall: low. Trade winds: strongest (20–28 knots). Hottest months but the strong trade winds keep it comfortable. Still excellent beach weather. Popular with European visitors during summer holidays. Prices slightly above May–June but well below December–April peak.

September & October

Temperature: 29–31°C (84–88°F). Rainfall: slight uptick (October has the most rain of any month). Trade winds: lighter and more variable. Quietest months — best hotel deals of the year. The small increase in rainfall means occasional brief afternoon showers (usually clearing within an hour). Hurricane season peak for the wider Caribbean but Aruba is unaffected.

November & December

Temperature: 27–30°C (80–86°F). Rainfall: decreasing through November, very low by December. Trade winds: picking up again. November is excellent value — trade winds return, rainfall drops, and peak season hasn’t yet begun. December sees prices escalate rapidly toward Christmas, with the festive atmosphere and New Year’s Eve fireworks at Palm Beach.

Frequently asked questions

Does Aruba get hurricanes?

Aruba sits at about 12.5°N, below the hurricane belt, and is rarely affected. Storms generally track north of the island. That is the main reason it stays a reliable Caribbean choice during the Atlantic hurricane season.

When is the cheapest time to visit Aruba?

May through early December. Hotel rates drop well below the January to April peak, crowds thin out and the sea is at its calmest. Rainfall ticks up slightly but stays low by Caribbean standards.

What is the weather like?

Hot and dry year-round, typically 28 to 32°C in the day with constant trade winds that make the heat comfortable. Annual rainfall is under 500mm, mostly as short showers.

How far ahead should I book?

Three to five days for tours in peak season and 24 to 48 hours off-peak. Hotels are worth booking one to two months ahead for January through April.
