Anno 1877 is Aruba’s most historically atmospheric restaurant — set inside a beautifully preserved 18th-century building in Oranjestad with original architectural details across three dining rooms. If you’re looking for a genuinely special evening in Aruba, this is the reservation to make.
The kitchen draws from French classical technique with Caribbean influences — escargots, bouillabaisse, rack of lamb, duck breast, and the legendary soufflé that regulars insist you don’t skip. It’s a proper fine dining experience done in an extraordinary setting.
The Menu: French-Influenced Fine Dining

Start with the escargots — they’re the signature opener and consistently excellent. The onion soup is deeply flavoured and properly made. For mains: the rack of lamb is the must-order, the duck breast with fruit reduction is outstanding, and the bouillabaisse on offer as a starter or sharing dish is among the best on the island.
The soufflé. Do not leave without ordering the soufflé. It requires advance notice to your server but it’s worth every minute of the wait. Hot, perfectly risen, delicate. Everything a soufflé should be.
The Building

The restaurant is housed in a genuine 18th-century building with original stonework, traditional architectural details, and a setting that feels unlike anywhere else in Aruba. Three separate dining rooms each have their own atmosphere — intimate, historic, and carefully lit. This is the kind of place where you dress up slightly and take your time.
