🏖 Aruba’s Most Popular Beach
Palm Beach is the heart of Aruba’s tourist scene — a two-mile stretch of white sand backed by the island’s biggest resorts, best beach bars, water sports operators, and restaurants. It’s lively, beautiful, and packed with things to do. Whether you’re staying on Palm Beach or visiting for the day, this guide covers everything you need to know.
Palm Beach sits on Aruba’s protected western coast where the Caribbean Sea is consistently calm, warm (80–84°F/27–29°C), and clear. The wide sandy beach backs directly onto the resort strip — meaning restaurants, bars, water sports, and accommodation are all within walking distance. It’s the most convenient beach on the island for activities and nightlife.

The Palm Beach strip has Aruba’s highest concentration of restaurants. Highlights include: Screaming Eagle (theatrical fine dining in a garden setting), Wilhelmina Restaurant (authentic Aruban cuisine), Bugaloe Beach Bar & Grill (casual waterfront dining with live music), Pinchos Grill & Bar (romantic pier-side grilling), and El Gaucho (Aruba’s best steakhouse).
Palm Beach is home to Aruba’s largest resorts — the Hyatt Regency, Ritz-Carlton, Hilton, and Marriott all sit directly on the beach. For a quieter experience, boutique hotels like Walts Aruba and Privada Boutique offer exceptional value and character. Browse Palm Beach hotels on Expedia →
Palm Beach is 10 minutes from Oranjestad and 15 minutes from Queen Beatrix Airport. Taxis from the airport cost approximately $20–25. Aruba Bus Routes 1 and 2 serve Palm Beach from Oranjestad. Most hotels offer shuttle services. Parking is available at several public lots behind the resort strip.
Palm Beach is better for activities, nightlife, and convenience. Eagle Beach is better for a quieter, more natural beach experience. Most visitors prefer Palm Beach to stay at but Eagle Beach to visit.
Palm Beach stretches approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) from the Ritz-Carlton at the north end to the Renaissance Hotel area at the south end.
Basic snorkelling is possible off Palm Beach but the reef quality is moderate. For excellent snorkelling, head to Arashi Beach (20 min north) or book a catamaran tour to the Antilla shipwreck.
