Sheltered Snorkel Cove
A sheltered cove with healthy coral reef and calm clear water. One of Aruba’s most accessible and rewarding snorkelling spots — perfect for beginners.
Boca Catalina is a small, sheltered cove on Aruba’s northwest coast, about 5 minutes north of Palm Beach. The rocky shoreline creates a naturally protected bay where the water stays calm and clear year-round. The reef begins immediately as you wade in — making it one of Aruba’s most accessible snorkelling spots, ideal for first-timers and those without a boat.
French angelfish, queen angelfish, blue tang, parrotfish, sergeant majors, and various wrasse. Brain coral and elkhorn coral in the shallower sections. Sea turtles occasionally visit — Arashi Beach (10 minutes north) is more reliable for turtles.
Most catamaran snorkel tours combine Boca Catalina with the Antilla shipwreck on the same half-day trip — giving you a reef snorkel AND a world-class wreck dive on one booking. Browse catamaran tours including Boca Catalina
