🗓 Short Break · One Happy Island
Three days isn’t long. But with the right plan, you’ll leave having done everything that matters.
The non-negotiables for 3 days: 🏖 Eagle Beach · 🚙 Natural Pool Jeep Safari · 🤿 Catamaran snorkel · 🌅 Sunset sail · 🐢 Arashi snorkelling
Three days in Aruba is tight — but it’s enough to see everything that actually matters. The key is committing. Don’t try to “take it easy.” You can relax at home. Aruba has a specific set of experiences that are genuinely extraordinary and genuinely hard to find anywhere else, and this itinerary gets you to all of them.
One rule: book the jeep safari and the catamaran tour before you arrive. These sell out. Everything else can be figured out as you go.
Morning — Eagle Beach: Arrive by 8am. Two miles of white sand with almost no one on it at that hour. The famous Fofoti trees lean in the trade wind. Swim. Breathe. This is the best beach in the Caribbean — let it land.
Afternoon — Catamaran tour: Board the 1pm or 4pm departure from Palm Beach marina. The Antilla Shipwreck snorkel with open bar is Aruba’s most-booked tour for a reason. A WWII German freighter now colonised by coral and barracudas. You’ll snorkel for 45 minutes, then sail back with the bar open and the sun setting.
The reason people come back to Aruba. A full-day 4×4 convoy through Arikok National Park — the wild, volcanic, cactus-covered interior that most tourists never see.
Stops include the Natural Pool (Conchi) — a volcanic rock formation on the northeast coast that creates a sheltered swimming hole with extraordinary scenery — Baby Beach lagoon in the south, the Bushiribana Gold Mill ruins, Aruba Aloe farm, and the California Lighthouse.
Lunch and drinks included on most tours. Full day — 9am to 5pm. You’ll need it.
Morning — Arashi Beach: Drive north to Arashi Beach by 8:30am. This is Aruba’s best shore snorkelling spot — bring a mask and fins and snorkel directly off the beach. Sea turtles are common. The reef is healthy and colourful. Leave by 10:30am before it gets crowded.
Evening — Sunset sailing: Book the Jolly Pirate sunset cruise — a classic wooden tallship, rope swings into the ocean, unlimited rum punch, and a Caribbean sunset. It’s the perfect last night. You’ll be back at the marina by 7pm with time for a final dinner in Oranjestad before your flight tomorrow.
Book these before you arrive — in that order of priority:
Free cancellation on most Aruba tours. Book now, adjust later if needed.
