The California Lighthouse. The Natural Pool. Arikok National Park. The gold mill ruins. Oranjestad’s waterfront. Aruba packs an extraordinary amount into 20 miles.
Aruba is small enough to cover the main sights in a few days, but large enough to surprise repeat visitors. The most efficient way to see the island’s best landmarks — particularly the Natural Pool, Arikok National Park, Bushiribana ruins, and the California Lighthouse — is a guided full-day jeep safari that covers them all with a local guide who knows every track.
Natural Pool (Conchi) — Aruba’s most extraordinary natural feature. Volcanic rocks create a sheltered seawater swimming hole on the northeast coast. Accessible only by 4×4 or on foot.
California Lighthouse — the iconic lighthouse on Aruba’s northwest tip. 360-degree panoramic views of the coastline, the sea, and on clear days, Venezuela. The best sunset photography point on the island.
Alto Vista Chapel — small yellow chapel built on Aruba’s northwest hills. Pilgrimage destination with extraordinary views and a peaceful atmosphere that contrasts sharply with the resort strip.
Full-day jeep safari — the most efficient sightseeing option. Natural Pool, Baby Beach, Bushiribana Gold Mill ruins, aloe farm, California Lighthouse, Alto Vista Chapel, and Arikok National Park in one day. Guided, with lunch included on most operators. This is how most visitors see the highlights.
Self-drive day — rent a car and follow the north coast road. California Lighthouse, Bushiribana ruins, Boca Prins, and Andicuri beach (east coast, for views only — not swimming) in a half-day. Easy to navigate with Google Maps.
